Role purpose:
Mission of the Modernization Domains Centre of Excellence (CoE) is to define, prioritize and deliver the commercial and technical roadmap of the organization. The IT Domain Architect - Provisioning & Activation (Mobile) has a key role to Vodafone IT strategy and is responsible for coordinating the project execution mainly for OSS mobile service activation & number inventory management domain(s)/system(s) in Vodafone IT.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Drive the solution design of the domain.
- Manage domain implementation and delivery through mostly external parties.
- Assure domain readiness (QA, SIT) as part of a project.
Project execution and delivery
- Collaborate closely with other IT teams, Network department and Group teams.
- Liaise with external partners about projects delivery and ensure the technical delivery of projects.
- Ensure the systems consistency across their lifecycle.
- Decommission resources that are no longer needed.
- Get involved on multiple projects in the value streams according to the organization needs and priorities.
Domain/System expertise
- Correlate applications and assets against IT strategy and modernization.
- Track all systems and assets subscriptions (extended support, on demand extensions)
Relationship with other roles
- Is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a specific domain/system in Vodafone IT, who provides consultation and coaching to squads and SIS members.
- Is responsible for the modernization and upgrades /uplifts of applications and systems.
Core competencies and and knowledge:
- At least 3 - 5 years of similar experience, with strong background in OSS application development & architecture.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Telecom industry.
- Knowledge of Java, UNIX shell scripting, UNIX operating systems and Oracle SQL.
- Solid knowledge of web service standards. (i.e., WDSL, REST, SOAP).
- Experience in open APIs (TM Forum).
- Experience in database technologies.
- Higher education in Computer Science, Engineering or a relevant field.
Desired Experience (nice to have) in:
- Agile methodology and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
