This role exists to maximise Abgad's risk-adjusted rate of return by maintaining credit risk exposure within acceptable and compliant parameters. Developing and implementing a risk management framework with appropriate tools for the measurement, reporting and control with a healthy risk-appetite framework at the top of mind is your key success indicator in this role.
Accountabilities:
- Participate in designing the required MIS reports necessary to manage the portfolio
- Work in conjunction with the Tech and Commercial teams to ensure the accuracy of data captured minimizing any risks and analyse the portfolio reports, review trends and recommend actions for adverse trends
- Build and review portfolio stress tests and portfolio cap and trigger monitoring, recommend corrective action and follow up on implementation
- Ensure that the Risk and Credit teams are informed with the status of key portfolio indicators.
- Analysis of segments and trends and through collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to be able to propose corrective policy changes and to highlight possible opportunities.
- Review policies and programs proposed from the business side and ensure they are line with risk governance
- Prepare & follow up on all the necessary analysis, action points, follow-up’s, and all board deck requirements that are needed in the Board / Risk Committee
- Act as a key focal point for all projects pertaining to Risk and Portfolio, such as Scoring, Systems development, etc..
- Comply with all guiding FRA regulations, banking laws, AML regulations and the organizsation's objectives to ensure compliance and mitigate any potential risks to the company
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent
- 7-10 years of retail risk experience
- Hands on, demonstrated experience developing Credit Risk frameworks and enhancements and the ability to measure success/failure of programs
- Experience and understanding of Consumer Finance and lending
