Primary Purpose
The Bl Report Developer provides report development support to the organization and works effectively with leaders throughout the organization to understand and assess their Deltek Costpoint, Great Plains and IBM Cognos Planning reporting needs, designs and develops reports to meet those needs, and ensure those reports are accessible to users.
Responsibilities
- Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards.
- Performs requirement gathering from leaders throughout the organization.
- Develops end-to-end report development, including design, development modification: enhancement, troubleshooting: of Cognos reports for all job levels, including executives and project leaders.
- Designs interactive dashboards: ad-hoc query and analysis, and interactive reports to include drill-down features.
- Creates customer user guides for navigating to and running reports.
- Provide general system assistance and training to the Deltek Costpoint, Great Plains and TM1 user community, and team members throughout the organization, including ad-hoc report assistance.
- Lead the effort to continually improve enterprise reporting to meet the needs of Emmes' leaders.
- Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented for your sphere of influence
- Participate with other specialist to develop and create reports across all systems.
- Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines, and repeatable processes.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Cognos BI report development.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Time & Expense, Great Plains and IBM Cognos Planning Analytics (TM1) and Budgeting & Planning preferred.
- Experience working in a Federal Government Contracting environment preferred.
- Strong organization, time management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve goals.
